Being a child or a teenager, or being the parent of child or teenager has its ups and downs. These ups and downs can be exacerbated by changes in the young person’s life. This can be moving schools, moving city or country, changes in the family or other significant life events. I have spent most of my career working with children, teenagers, parents and families. I am very skilled at engaging with all members of the family and helping everyone to tackle the problem together. I view parents as the most essential resource a young person has and will almost always involve parents as part of the treatment team.

There are many reasons parents or carers may seek help for their child, such as;

•            behaviour problems at home or at school

•            anxiety, worry or panic

•            sleep problems

•            depression

•            self harm

•            school refusal

•            adjustment to life changes such as separation and divorce or relocation
